Beauty and the Beast (2017)

The 1991 Disney animation of Beauty & the Beast is a movie that I love dearly. So while I had major reservations about this remake – mostly because of Emma Watson – I was quietly optimistic about it. Perhaps today’s technology will enhance the magic…

But no. It doesn’t. This remake was appalling, and my reluctance to watch it was proven understandable.

The casting was totally wrong. Right off the bat Emma Watson – or should I say Hermione Granger – was a problem. While she fits the physicality of Belle, her same-old expression of open-mouthed, furrow-browed facials were tiring to say the least… Continue reading

La La Land

This gallery contains 7 photos.

Despite the trailer making me expect Glee meets Grease, I had heard so many rave reviews about La La Land, that I simply had to see it for myself.

I was not disappointed.

A story about a boy and a girl, with grand dreams (already a refreshing storyline in itself). Ryan Gosling’s character, Sebastian, wants to be a jazz musician, playing in his own bar. Emma Stone’s character, Mia, wants to be a successful actress. Two strong-minded people going in different directions, yet refusing to let go of each other… Continue reading

This is the End

This gallery contains 4 photos.

If you enjoyed The Hangover, Ted, 21 Jump Street and Superbad, then you will probably love this movie.

It is about the end of the world and how it affects the Hollywood stars in Los Angeles. Their public image is mocked and they play to their weaknesses. Like, what do you reckon Michael Cera, Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are like at a party? Yeah, they play to your assumptions which is quite hilarious.

It is a movie that makes fun of every actor’s reputation, with Jonah Hill being the funniest.

As the world’s end comes to a close, those who did not get saved and go to heaven have to stay on Earth to fight for their survival. Pretty much every Hollywood star did not get accepted into heaven, including Emma Watson, Rihanna and Paul Rudd. So as… Continue reading

My Favourite Scene: The Perks of Being A Wallflower

This gallery contains 1 photo.

I love this scene! The song is Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners.

It is such a contagious song and has that sound that makes you want to get up and dance. Or at least put a smile on your face.

I love Emma Watson’s dancing in this too. Friggin’ awesomely hilarious.

I don’t mean to brag, but I have mastered her choreography for this song… Continue reading

Looking Forward to: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

This gallery contains 2 photos.

I am so, so excited to watch this movie. I had never heard of the books before, but recently stumbled across the trailer.

The script seems awesome with hilarious lines. With the popularity that the books have gotten, I hope that the movie will live up to the hype.

I guess I am looking forward to this film because it explores a very relatable subject of fitting in… Or not… In a free spirited and fresh way…

Let me know if you have seen it and what you reckon. I have read very good reviews so far… Continue reading

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 [SPOILER]

This gallery contains 6 photos.

Not a moment to rest! This really is a second part, as in, it can’t really stand alone. If you consider it as a film separate to the first, you may feel exhausted by the constant running and relentless fighting. However, it really is more that that. It is the final of a ten year long series and the conclusion to the first Deathly Hallows… Continue reading

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

This gallery contains 7 photos.

What a fantastic film! But of course I would say that; it’s based around time travel. So if you enjoyed the Prisoner of Azkaban, you’ll enjoy this.
Every Potter film before this has been increasingly dark – this is no exception – it is evil and horrific as we continue out ten year journey with Harry potter in order to defeat Lord Voldemort and we are almost at the final fight… Continue reading
